Requirements to Qualify for Our 6-Month Promise
You must be a U.S. subscriber who has signed up for a Yahoo! Personals six-month subscription between May 22, 2008 and September 16, 2009 inclusive.
You must post an approved, searchable profile for the entire time of your paid six-month subscription.
You must display an approved primary photo for the entire time of your paid six-month subscription. A caption is not required.
Using the Yahoo! Personals email feature, you must contact at least five different people each month during your paid six-month subscription. Initiating an email conversation or replying to an email counts toward the monthly minimum figure. Icebreakers do not count. If you contact more than five different people in one month, the additional people do not count toward the monthly minimum of subsequent months. A month is defined as 30 consecutive days. As a record, you must keep your “sent” emails for at least 31 days after you send them.
You cannot cancel your paid six-month subscription at any time while it is in effect.
If you did not find someone special by the time your paid six-month subscription ended and you believe you are eligible for our 6-Month Promise, contact Yahoo! Customer Care within the 10-day period before your subscription automatically renews. (We will send you a reminder email about the renewal process.) To contact Yahoo! Customer Care, fill out the Personals Billing Form; In “What can we help you with?” choose “6-Month Promise Redemption”, and include your full name and Yahoo! ID in the form. Yahoo! Customer Care will send you instructions by email on how to redeem your 6-month promise. You will have one opportunity to discuss your eligibility with Yahoo! Customer Care, whose determination about your eligibility for the 6-Month Promise is final.
If you are eligible for our 6-Month Promise, you must use it immediately after your paid six-month subscription ends. Time cannot lapse between your paid subscription and the free six months.
**Emails From Us About Our 6-Month Promise
As long as you remain eligible for our 6-Month Promise during your paid six-month subscription, we will send you a monthly email stating your eligibility status. These emails will be the sole notification of your status. To receive the emails, you must choose to receive our free marketing communications; you may need to change your marketing preferences to receive announcements from Yahoo! Personals.
If you become ineligible for our 6-Month Promise during your paid six-month subscription, we will send you an email stating why and what you can do if you think your ineligibility is an error.
If you are eligible for and receive our 6-Month Promise, your subscription will auto-renew and revert to a paid subscription at the end of your free six months. When your free six-month subscription is about to end, we will send you an email that states your options for canceling your subscription or continuing with a paid subscription.
Your Privacy Is Important to Us
To determine your eligibility for our 6-Month Promise, each month we count how many different people you have emailed using the Yahoo! Personals email feature, but we do not read the contents of the emails.
